Rolo Lamperouge: The Guardian Angel

More Code Geass fan art from me. :stupidme: Yeap, my recent Code Geass addiction is still not cured.

Moving on...

There are a lot of sad deaths in Code Geass. I bet Lelouch's death in the finale might arguably be the best among them - but if you ask me, I'd go for Rolo's death. :cries: :cries: :cries:

I didn't like him all that much during the first few episodes of the second season. It puzzled me why he was even put there in the first place. I wondered what's his ultimate role in the grand scheme of things. When he killed Shirley, I thought "Oh, so he's just some trash character who's gonna make things more difficult for Lelouch and his subsequent death in Lulu's hands will be a fitting end to his insanity". And frankly, he's just a bit of a psycho (kinda' like Yuno minus the girly sex appeal. Wait, I take that back. :|).

I was even laughing like a villain when Lulu planned to make a "funeral pyre for Shirley" out of him using the bomb he placed in Rolo's Nightmare Frame to blow him up during the invasion at that Geass camp thingy. :evillaugh:

But wow... His death. What he said during that scene. Seeing him overuse his Geass and Lulu trying to stop him... :cries: I didn't realize he's just a lonely person who never knew any sort of real affection and care and he's always been used. Those memories he had with Lulu, though fabricated and staged, that was already real enough for him - and he gladly gave his life for that. :( :cries:

So I gave Rolo here the biggest wings EVAH! LOL! :D :woohoo: And Lelouch here is all emo and shit. :XD: Yeah, I thought of a good background to put here, and I decided on gears (because Rolo's Geass controls time.:D) and there's his favorite locket below, melting. :( Like it means something... Whatever. I'm done. :XD:

Anya's Story

More Code Geass artwork b*tch! :woohoo:  Yeah... Sorry 'bout that. :|

Wonder when my CG obsession's gonna end. :| Hmm... Maybe after I finally fill up my current sketchbook! :excited: Just 3 more pages to go and it's officially filled. :D Wish I could find some more good sketchbooks like it. This is how it looks like: [link] Stocks here are gone. :cries: I like the paper quality. Pretty good for poster colors. :( But I did find it online thanks to the website that's printed at the back. LOL! :XD: But I can't understand a thing 'cause the site's in Mandarin. :?

Going back to the topic... Anya! Yes Anya here! I like Anya. She's one of my three favorite Code Geass characters (the two others being Rolo and Lelouch). :D I like her character design. I'm a sucker for petite girls with an expressionless face, a nice little outfit and an aloof, somewhat clueless disposition. :XD: I also like that little gadget she keeps with her which she uses to make "memories" out of everything (since she's memory-less, darn you Charles!!! :explosion: )

She's an unexpected surprise plot twist in the Code Geass story. Who knew Lelouch's mom is actually possessing her body since before she died. :wow: That just came out of nowhere. And then in the end, did she end up with Orange Boy? Are they a couple now? LOL! :XD: Damn Orange Boy's gonna make pedo bear proud. :XD:

Anyways, like most of the characters I took a liking to, I HAD to make fan art of Anya. :XD: Didn't know where I wanted to go with this whole set-up. Just wanted to draw Anya with things that are related to her - her Knight of the Round cape, her big 'ol Nightmare Frame Mordred, her little blog making gadget, even Lady Marianne - who I only drew in silhouette shadow form. I don't like her that much so I didn't draw her full on - and I also wanted the focus to be only on Anya. :D

And of course, who wouldn't recognize that giant mask Anya's sitting on. :D :woohoo:

Kallen Kozuki: The Red Knight of Zero

Oh! So those Code Geass mechs are called "Knightmare Frames" not "Nightmare Frame" which I have using 'til now. LOL! I'm such a dumbass. :stupidme:

Owwwwkaaay... Kallen Kozuki! :woohoo: She isn't included in my top three Code Geass favorite characters, but I do believe making a fan art of her is justifiable. :XD: No! I HAD to draw her too! She's awesome. :D And hot (thinks of that bunny suit she wore during the second season.). Yeah, but being hot's not just the only likable trait she has. I mean she's honorable and loyal... Funny at times... Yeap. Kallen is cool. And she's become sort of like a poster girl for Code Geass (aside from C.C off course) - a pretty face with badass fighting skills, the image of a strong willed and powerful female protagonist. :D :worship:

So I made sure to make her look fierce in this drawing. :D Like she's going to kick some ass like a boss! :XD: But man, I didn't realize I'd put in a little more effort into drawing her than I planned to (who's not really a super big fave character of mine). :D The background was a little tricky to make, considering I don't usually make backgrounds for my drawings. :faint: And that winged Guren also made the whole thing longer than usual to finish.:explosion: Good thing somehow the paper was able to withstand all the poster color I put on it. I mean this is one of the few full page colored drawings I made in my sketchbook, so guess that's why this become somewhat of a challenge. :faint: The lighting motive was inspired from this Magic the Gathering card: [link] I don't know why this card popped into my mind when I drew this fanart. Guess the Guren reminded me of this minotaur. Kallen's costume here is inspired by one of the artworks CLAMP made, particularly this: [link]

Yeah, I'm done here. :)

Code Geass: The Nightmare of Nunnally

I've finished reading the Code Geass spin-off manga titled "The Nightmare of Nunnally" a couple of days ago. :D :woohoo: And I have to say, it was pretty much a fun topsy-turvy ride. :XD:

Lots of changes - Rolo is Lulu's evil twin brother, Knightmare Frames can be "summoned", Geass powers now have names, Mao is a girl and Zero looks like a Kamen Rider. :XD: I guess the biggest appeal in this alternate scenario is seeing Nunnally become the focal point of all the events in the Code Geass world. She became the heroine here. :D Lelouch became more of a supporting character but still with a very significant role in the story. That, and seeing Nunna butt-naked while piloting an Evangelion unit is also pretty much all a CG fanboy like me could ever want. :XD: Just kidding. Pedo bear would be proud of me. :XD: And it's nice to see some new characters too - especially that girl named Alice. :D It's cool for Nunna to have a bff. :D They look cute together. Aaand... I'm having some yuri fantasies now. STOP!!! :XD:

So this artwork here is a little tribute I made for the manga. :D There's Alice there at the left side and Zero (with his buff and manlier look) at the other. Nunna's Evangelion Unit is there at the very top and Dark Nunna coming out of the shadows with a sinister smirk on her face trying to engulf normal Nunna in the darkness. :XD: A pretty cliche and used up idea, but can't come up with any other that fits the whole story to a tea :XD: I just wanted to draw a poster type picture of the important characters in the manga. :D I used a dark shade of brown to color the shadows instead of using black. It ended up having a different feel to it or something... So yeah, it was quite a change when I drew this. :D

Wah, I do wish they'd turn this into an anime.

The First People Lelouch Will See In the Afterlife

I just wanted to give Lelouch a happy ending. :cries: :( :)

It's a cliche idea - Lelouch, the dead person's point of view, while "crossing over" to the afterlife and then he meets some important people at the entrance. In this case, there's Shirley, Euphie and Rolo. :D It's nothing new, but I wanted Lelouch to be in this kind of scene. He deserves that sort of experience. :D Btw, that hand is Lelouch. :D

Hey, when you die, do you ever wonder which dead loved ones would greet you at the gates of the after world? :)

Yeap, so it was Obito after all... *sigh* :frustrated:

So I drew Mister Masked Man himself here and he's well... Unmasked. :D Not much to say about this drawing. It's pretty straightforward. Just Obito using his "whirlpool" Sharingan technique, looking all superior. Gah! :frustrated: Who am I kidding! I hate this drawing! I don't think he looks like Obito. He looks more like Pain with black colored hair instead of orange and minus all the piercings! :frustrated:

Shiki Nanaya: Eveyone's So Fragile

I love 2D fighting games. And I just got my hands on another title - it's Melty Blood: Actress Again Current Code. :D Yeah, title's weird, but the games great! I remember the only chance I got to play some of the characters was when I downloaded them for MUGEN. :D But MUGEN's kinda broken and it's more for the entertainment factor rather than the story and actual gameplay. :XD:

Actress Again was great 'cause I got to use new characters - Powerd Ciel, Shiki Ryougi (who I think is really badass), Roa, and that super powered version of Arcueid, Archetype Eart. :D But I still love Shiki Nanaya among all of them. :headbang: He's just COOL. He has swag. :XD: And his knife skills are just deadly. :XD: Love his Last Arc move where he teleports on the opponents head then snaps it. :headbang:

I've drawn him a number of times before, but his coolness demands that I draw him again. :XD: So here, Shiki sitting by a sidewalk with his "Mystic Eyes of Death Perception" activated, contemplating about how easily he could end existences with just a few slashed of his knife. I colored this in Adobe - pretty simple coloring, minimalist style... Wanted to focus on Shiki's eyes and the "lines of death" that he can see with it. :D And I wanted this to have that feeling of obliviousness, like the people here don't know that they're in the presence of someone who's beyond them...

Btw, I think his "Mystic Eyes" are the best eye powers I've seen in any manga or anime related media. I like it more than Sharingan and Rinnegan and all it's copies. :XD: Except for Geass. I like that one too. :XD:

I've given this friend of mine portraits of her as a present every time it's her birthday. She doesn't complain about it and she seems to be always happy when I give them, so yeah, guess I'll draw portraits of her for her birthday until we both get sick of it. LOL! :XD:

This is done with the usual poster colors and a sharp pencil. :D

Ulquiorra. Yeap. The emo Arrancar of the Espada gang. :| Owwkayy... I don't usually draw fanart of characters from Bleach, but this is a request and I'm expecting payment... So... Yeah... :|

But if I did have a favorite character in Bleach, I bet it's gonna be this guy. I have a soft spot for gloomy characters with teenage angst issues. :lmao:

I drew Ulquiorra and the one who made the request separately. That way I can give the client the drawing of her ('cause I don't like keeping people's faces in my sketchbooks) and I get to keep Ulquiorra. :D I combined the drawings with Photoshop.

Kurapika Will Mess You Up

Even though I don't like it as much as the original series, I'm still actually following the Hunter X Hunter 2011 remake. :| I don't know why they suddenly decided to redo ALL the Hunter X Hunter episodes - I mean, there really isn't any need for it! :rage: The original series was more serious and a tad darker. The animation may not have been consistent (you see the characters drawn differently during certain episodes) but I still love how the characters are made to look, Killua and Kurapika's hair looked better, their eyes look nicer... The music was GREAT (who could forget about the opening theme song "Ohayou"?) It was a masterpiece, and it's not a very good idea that they made a revamp, in my opinion. :( The new series has OST's that I don't like (the opening song isn't to my taste), it feels more "kiddy-fied", and somehow it's more jolly and happy when in fact, you'll see a lot of dismemberment and brutal fights later on in the series. It's just weird... :?

Anyways... The Kurapika Vs Uvogin fight has always been one of my top favorite anime fights of all time. The remake's version of the fight was well... Okay, I guess. It wasn't bad, the fight animation was great, but it didn't have the same "coolness" that I got from the original episode. :( I don't know, Kurapika just looks MORE badass in the old version - the way he took his clothes looked more flashy and he even said a short "prayer" to the red moon then kissed his chains before the fight started. :) Ah... That fight was the bomb! :XD:

So in honor of the Kurapika Vs Uvogin remake, I drew this. :) Kurapika beating the hell out of his opponent. I made it as if the viewer is the Uvogin. :XD: You get to see Kura's piercing eyes and his bloody fist. :) Actually, I just wanted to draw the EYES. They're drawn differently in the new anime series. They're more compressed and cartoonish. But... It isn't that bad. And the fight scene was good. So... There. :)

Melty Blood: The Night of Wallachia

Katto... Katto, katto, katto, katto, KATTO, KATTO, KATTO, KATTO, KATTO, KAAATTTTOOOO!!! :evillaugh:

I'm asking myself why I haven't made a fanart of this guy LONG ago... :stupidme: I mean, I  this guy! :D Who wouldn't resist that bloody, toothy, disturbing smile.

This is the Night of Wallachia (or Warachia). He's from the Tsukihime novel by Typemoon and a playable character in the Melty Blood 2D fighting game. I've downloaded this guy for MUGEN long before I got my hands on the original Melty Blood game, and man, this guy was awesome to use! :D His black tornadoes and claw swipes, his interesting cloak, that creepy insane face! He's a riot! :XD:

Aside from all that and his "kikikiki" laugh and "inspiring" quotes about humans, I also like his overall concept. :) I've read around wikis about Tsukihime, and found out that Wallachia is actually a creature that has transcended the state of ordinary existence. He's not really there, tangibly. Only after certain "conditions" are met that he materializes. Supposedly, he latches on to a community's rumors and urban legends, feeds on that energy and then finally takes the form of the rumor. Cool huh? I've never heard of a character as unique as he is. Nice, Typemoon! :D

I made this look messy. Because he's an insane, homicidal creature of darkness, I wanted this to have that "demented" feel. I made the background using heavy, dry strokes of the brush and used lots of blacks and reds. :D And there's always that "insignia" of Wallachia - a bloody smiley face stamped on the moon. :D Had fun making this. :D And it satisfied my craving of doing fanart of him. :D

Hyouka: Watashi... Kininarimasu!!!

Wow! That Hyouka episode was cool! Episode 21 that is... :D

You know, I never am a big fan of anime shows that revolve around detective work. For example Detective Conan. It's nice and all. The mystery cases are interesting and whatnot, but at some point, I just lose interest... :( Maybe because the stories follow a pattern and you kinda lose the "surprise" moment and such... Whatever...

But Hyouka is different. Yeah, it's another one of those detective animes, but changing the setting into a "school life" scenario and creating mystery cases that are more down-to-earth, Hyouka was successful in keeping me hooked to it. :D And the four friends Oreki, Chitanda, Mayaka and Satoshi are a very fun bunch of people each with their own charm. I especially like Oreki, the "Shikamaru" genius and Eru, the overly curious airhead. :XD:

I loved that episode where the culprit of the chocolate mystery turned out to be Satoshi. :D Awesome twist. :D Loved it so much, I made this fanart. :D Well it doesn't have anything to do with that certain episode. It's more like me just wanting to draw a cute group picture of all four of them. :D This is done using a sharp pencil. I didn't color the original since I drew it on a bondpaper that can't handle poster colors... So I used Photoshop to color. :D Just a simple block color style - no shadows and highlights. I'm just lazy to put those...

Firion Third Costume in EX-Mode

Loved the feeling of playing Dissidia after a few months hiatus. :XD:

I've finished all the stories there now and I already explored 100 % of the Labyrinth, but playing my favorite Final Fantasy characters is still awesome! :D And I always seem to go straight to the Labyrinth when I play Dissidia. Other times, I decide to kill Feral Chaos again in story mode - man, I remember when I had no knowledge of accessories and boosters, I actually defeated Feral cheap ass Chaos using the LONG method. I mean, just kill him by landing as many HP attacks as possible. :XD:

And the guy who finally defeated him that time was Firion! :D I spammed his Weaponsmaster, Lord of Arms and Shield Bash attacks. :D

So when I played him again, I decided to draw another fanart of him afterwards because he's my best friend. :XD: This time with his 3rd outfit. :D I like the fact that his costume turns blue during Ex-Mode - makes his Blood Weapons stand out. And that's what I wanted to do here - makes his tools pop by making his outfit a little bluer and using the contrast of blue and red to further the effect. :D And I added blue roses... Yeap blue roses... :| You know, he reminds me of Warrior of Light when he's in this costume, but I can't quite sure pinpoint the reason why... :lmao: *cough* Horns... *cough* *cough*

By the way, looks like I used the word "blue" a little too much in this post. :XD:

Setsuna and Gundam Exia

Started watching (and just finished) the first season of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 yesterday. :D

My last Gundam series was Seed and Seed Destiny. I liked the first season a lot and wished they ended with that. Second season was okay, but meh... I didn't like Shin. He's the main star there, but I felt like he came out of nowhere, I mean he didn't have any real significant connection with Kira and the others...

Gundam 00 is I think pretty cool though. Very different from Seed, but somehow reminiscent of Wing. :D Like c'mon, we get another bunch of Gundam pilots that look like a boyband. :XD: Still, the issues about war and human nature - I dig those. Especially since I was fresh out of Code Geass and that anime practically had almost the same points raised during the flow of their story. I'm really interested as to how exactly Celestial Being is gonna rid the world of war. Attacking people who do war seems to only aggravate things... But then, we see the countries unite at the end of the season, so maybe, that's an achievement... (Reminds me of what Lelouch did in Code Geass. Make the world hate you so that that in the process, they unite to fight a common enemy). I wonder if that will do good in our world. I mean, in reality... But whatever.

I drew Setsuna here, since he's the star of the show. I like his character, though I've seen many like him - a guy with a dark past, angry at the world, trying to change it, seemingly devoid of emotion, gloomy but somehow likable. :| That scarf of his. It's pink. And I used that to make this drawing a little artsy. It doubles as a frame and dividing border for the Gundam Exia head and Setsuna's face. I like his hair. Had fun drawing that. :D Been a while since I drew a Gundam though. :D My first ever posts here in Deviantart are fan works I made for Gundam Seed. :D

Gundam Exia Repair: Setsuna Continues the Fight

That Exia Gundam in disrepair and unmaintained... It looked COOL! :D It really looked like a lone vagabond rebel complete with a tattered cloak and an injured eye. :D

I just wanted to draw Exia in that state. Well, I got a little too excited and just winged it when I decided to draw the mecha. Yeah, I'm not very keen when it comes to drawing robots and stuff. Argh! All those lines and minute details... But I can't seem to stop myself from drawing them, 'cause when I do finish one, I feel like I'm some pro. :XD: Still, I drew the details in this Gundam haphazardly - those little thingamajigs just got me crazy so I covered them all with shadows and shadings. :frustrated: And I didn't even bother to color this. Should've drawn this on my drawing pad instead of a bondpaper ('cause the latter can't handle wet poster colors).

So yeah, there. Still made me feel good though after finishing this. Oh yeah, forgot to mention about drawing Setsuna here too. Just wanted to draw how he looks a tad older in the second season of Gundam 00. :D
